Type of Spray Insulation

Open Cell Foam

Open cell foam has an open cell structure allowing the foam to expand greater, Furthermore the greater expansion of the foam helps the foam to adhere to even the cracks and crevices making it an effective air barrier. Open cell foam also acts as a sound barrier and can muffle the sound upto 70%.

Closed Cell Foam

Closed cell foam has a more intact cell structure and carries the highest R value in terms of insulation, When applied thick enough it can act as a vapor barrier, stopping condensation and moulds to grow, it also has the ability to block the air movement completely. The high density of the closed cell foam adds to the structural strenght making the frame significantly stronger.
